Dominican University MBA Program Adopts Web Based Seminars
August 2003
Initiated by Chris Leeds, Dean of the School of Business, the online
program at Dominican University of California is now in its second
academic year of using Executive Development Seminars Online
materials and facilitation exclusively for its online classes. Delivered
via the Blackboard 6 platform, the Professional Writing and Business
Communication seminars prepare incoming MBA candidates for
academic success at the graduate level. Combining principles of
current business-style writing and standard academic rigor, the
customized courses offer students the flexibility of working on their
own schedule while still enjoying the stimulating interaction of a
classroom environment.
Currently including executive learners from seven nations and four
continents, the online classes provide a supportive, interactive
environment where participants enhance leadership skills by taking
control of their communication. Along with case analysis study and
experience based problem solving, the students produce real world
documents such as policy memos, proposals, feasibility studies,
and PowerPoint presentations.
